The Boards of Directors of the Durham Region Association of REALTORS® (DRAR), the Quinte & District Association of REALTORS® (QDAR), and the Northumberland Hills Association of REALTORS® (NHAR) are pleased to announce that their memberships have overwhelmingly voted in support of the amalgamation of all three associations into a larger collective regional association, with a new name, a new identity, and a membership of more than 2,000 REALTORS®.
Forward-thinking leadership from the Boards of Directors of each Association along with the trust and endorsement of their memberships to create a larger regional association is an exciting step forward in organizing organized real estate. DRAR, QDAR & NHAR have been working towards this regional framework for years, with the common goal of maximizing service to members, increasing access to data throughout the region, and enhancing professionalism within the industry.
“We’re thrilled with today’s vote and are very pleased by this resounding message from our memberships," said Meredith Kennedy, DRAR President. “The vision of a larger regional association started many years ago, and I am proud to see this goal come to fruition. Seeing the overwhelmingly positive response from members, hopefully, this will be the start of further collaboration and integration among boards in our region and beyond.”
“The vote by members to approve this integration shows the value we all see in this exciting step forward, empowering our collective Members,” said Natasha Huizinga QDAR President.
“This is the right step forward for all of our members,” said NHAR President Erin Brown. “We are excited to see the incredible results this collaboration will bring to our combined membership.”
"I know I speak for the staff teams from all three associations in saying, we want our collective members to have the tools they need to serve their clients and the data they need to grow their business. As we now join over 2,000 members within a new regional identity and name, we have the ability to strengthen our services to members, and unify data throughout our region," said Wendy Giroux, CEO of DRAR.
